One of my favorite past paintings now in print. Recognized for my paintings of angels and children in motion in my unique style, I use a palette knife to build energetic layers of color. I paint with the palette knife because it gives me the opportunity to interact with paint in a very tangible, expressionistic way. Using a knife in this way allows the paint to stand out and create a lively and impressionistic work. The surfaces of my paintings are very tactile, sometimes resembling a mosaic of palette knife strokes.
My oil paintings express my appreciation of nature with a simple intimacy that conveys a quiet emotion and a gentle strength. A versatile impressionist, my forte is plein air landscape. Using a palette knife, I integrate light, color and texture. In each painting there are two things that are important to me: The first is the power of expression, style and quality, and the second is that my paintings bring joy and inspiration.
