I am American Impressionist Painter, Karen Tarlton - painting with a unique sense of color, texture and light. The palette knife, allow me to stay loose, merging colors and sculpting wet paint into a dynamic final product. My paintings take on a multi-dimensional form and are easily recognized for their use of heavy-texture and bold colors to emphasize nature’s spontaneity and beauty in a modern, abstract way.

My oil paintings express my appreciation of nature with a simple intimacy that conveys a quiet emotion and a gentle strength. A versatile impressionist, my forte is plein air landscape. Using a palette knife, I integrate light, color and texture. In each painting there are two things that are important to me: The first is the power of expression, style and quality, and the second is that my paintings bring joy and inspiration.
